Data Engineer (Spark/Scala)

dv01 is the world’s first end-to-end data management, reporting and analytics platform offering loan level transparency and insight into lending markets, making them more efficient for institutional investors and safer for the world. In a nutshell, we’re doing our part to prevent a repeat of 2008.

As the technological hub between lenders and capital markets, dv01 provides all parties with unprecedented data transparency, insight, and analytics. dv01 has integrated data from 16 marketplace lending platforms, including LendingClub, Prosper and SoFi and multiple mortgage servicers.  To date, dv01 has provided reporting and analytics on $105 billions of online lending and mortgage loans and $35 billions of securitization coverage.

You will:

Serve as the manager of our performance table. You will manage and maintain our robust performance table that drives our analytics. You will ensure the table syncs and logically interacts with our web API, and our back-end infrastructure. You will QA the logic used to populate our fields and maintain the table’s structural integrity.

Serve as the gatekeeper for all performance metrics. You will be integral to ensuring that performance data dv01 displays on our platform is of the highest quality and meets all of our clients' needs. This will consist of taking ownership of performance calculations, ensuring the accuracy of data feeding those calculations, performing ad-hoc analysis, and ensuring those metrics properly feed into our quality assurance processes.

Enhance your data wrangling and technical skills. You'll work closely with various engineering teams at dv01 to develop and productize solutions, both for our customers and internally. You will expand your existing data wrangling and technical skills at a rapid pace, learning how to navigate the vast data landscape that feeds in dv01's offerings.

Qualifications:

Experienced as a Data Management: You have at least 2-3 years’ building, managing, and ETL-ing datasets more than 5 GB in size.

Experienced as a Data Wrangler: You have at least 2-3 years’ experience in dealing with messy, unstructured, uncleansed data from a variety of sources. You are comfortable working with and reconciling multiple data sources, building outputs and running self-directed QA.

Engineering Background. You have at least 2-3 years’ of professional experience in coding in R, Python or Scala and can write SQL queries like a pro.

Able to separate the financial wheat from the chaff: You are able to identify key metrics in structured credit securitizations and/or direct consumer or corporate loans. You know important metrics and characteristics of loans and securitization documents. You can use your engineering background to investigate and resolve differences.
