As natural disasters become more frequent and severe due to climate change, credit investors are increasingly focused on understanding the impact of these events on credit performance.

In dv01’s latest research, we analyze how the Consumer Unsecured sector has performed following major hurricanes—Harvey and Irma in 2017, Ian in 2022, and Beryl in 2024. We examine trends in Delinquencies, Impairments, and Charge-Offs, plotted on a "months from hurricane" timeline to provide a normalized comparison across different periods.
